Harvester – LOGSET 8H GTE

The stable giant: Power and flotation for the toughest forest
The Logset 8H GTE is the most capable and stable harvester in Logset’s standard range. Weighing 22 tons with an 8-wheel configuration, this machine is built to master terrain where others fail: steep slopes and soft ground. Equipped with a powerful 291 hp engine and a beastly tractive force of 190 kN, it offers the perfect combination of crane stability and agility with a low ground footprint. It is the ultimate tool for contractors seeking to maximize production in demanding final felling operations.

Large description

Terrain Mastery: 8 Wheels and Extreme Traction The 8-wheel architecture of the 8H GTE is not just aesthetic; it is pure functionality. It allows for exceptional weight distribution, reducing ground pressure in peatlands or muddy areas, and providing a rock-solid working platform on steep hillsides. With a tractive force of 190 kN (superior to the 6-wheel version), this machine climbs and advances with authority, ensuring production doesn’t stop due to weather or topography.

Hydraulic Power and Engine:
The AGCO Power 74 LFTN (Stage V) 7.4-liter engine delivers 291 hp (214 kW) and 1280 Nm of torque, figures necessary to move large volumes of wood effortlessly. But the real magic lies in its hydraulic system: it offers a dual pump option (190 + 140 l/min) ensuring massive flow to operate the head, feeding, and crane simultaneously without losing speed.

Operator Environment and Heavy Crane:
To leverage this stability, it mounts the Mesera 241 H crane, with a lifting torque of 240 kNm and a reach of up to 11.1 meters. This allows for manipulating very heavy stems at maximum distance without the cab moving. The TOC 2 control system and the soundproofed, ergonomic cabin ensure the operator can maintain this high rhythm throughout the shift.

Fleet Compatibility and Configuration

Designed for final felling and processing large-diameter trees in difficult conditions.

  • Compatible Heads: Optimized for the most powerful heads: TH55, TH65, and TH75. The TH75 allows for processing very thick timber with total efficiency.
  • Crane: Equipped as standard with the powerful Mesera 241 H for lifting heavy loads, or the 221 H option. Reach from 10.3 to 11.1 meters.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What is the main advantage of the 8H GTE over the 8H GT?
The GTE features 8 wheels compared to the GT’s 6. This provides better flotation on soft soils, greater stability on slopes, and superior tractive force of 190 kN (vs 171 kN), making it more capable in extreme terrain.

2. Is the dual hydraulic pump option necessary? If you work in high-production final felling, yes. The 190+140 l/min configuration allows the head to process at top speed while you move the crane for the next tree, significantly increasing cubic meters per hour.

3. What type of tracks can it fit?
It supports tracks (bogie tracks) on both the front and rear bogies. This turns the machine into a forestry “tank” capable of operating in deep snow, dense mud, or very steep slopes.

4. Is it suitable for processing large eucalyptus?
Yes, it is ideal. The combination of the TH75 head, 291 hp power, and 8-wheel stability allows for debarking and processing heavy eucalyptus without the machine losing balance.

5. What is the fuel capacity for long shifts?
It features a 495-liter fuel tank and a 40-liter DEF (AdBlue) tank, sized to withstand intensive shifts without refueling.
