Superior Chassis and Flotation: What defines the 5F GT is its large footprint. By fitting standard 710/45-26.5 tires, it raises the entire chassis, drastically reducing the risk of grounding out in deep ruts. Despite being a compact machine, its operating weight of 16 tons provides the necessary stability to maximize its 171 kN tractive force, allowing it to climb where other forwarders in its class would slip.

Power and Efficiency: It shares the reliable AGCO Power 49 LFTN (Stage V) heart, delivering 190 hp (140 kW) and 800 Nm of torque. However, the hydrostatic-mechanical transmission is optimized to transform that power into constant thrust, ideal for hauling the 12-ton payload through soft ground or snow without straining the engine, keeping fuel consumption to a minimum.

Load Area and Crane: The load bunk is flexible, with an adjustable length of 4.15 to 4.75 meters and an area of 4 to 4.75 m². This allows the machine to be adapted to carry two stacks of shortwood or longer logs depending on the contract. Loading is handled by the Mesera 83 F crane, offering a lifting torque of 106 kNm and reach options of up to 10 meters.

1. What is the main advantage of the 5F GT over the 4F GT? Aside from the extra 2 tons of load capacity (12t vs 10t), the big difference is the wheels. The 5F GT fits 26.5-inch rims, giving it much more ground clearance and better ability to roll over obstacles and mud than the 22.5″ rims of the smaller model.

2. Is the engine powerful enough for 12 tons? Yes, the 190 hp AGCO engine is perfectly sized. The key is the 171 kN tractive force (very high for its segment), ensuring the machine can move a full load even on slopes.

3. Is it too wide for thinning? Not necessarily. With 600 mm tires, it maintains a contained width that allows it to navigate well-planned thinning operations, offering the advantage of extracting more wood per trip than a small forwarder.

4. What crane options are available? It comes standard with the Mesera 83 F, a proven and robust crane with 106 kNm of brute force. You can choose reaches of 7.2 m, 8.5 m, or 10 m depending on whether you prioritize lifting power or distance.

5. What maintenance does the control system require? The TOC 2 system is highly reliable and self-diagnosing. It facilitates maintenance by alerting on service intervals and allowing crane sensitivity adjustments without tools, directly from the cabin screen.
