Compact Design and Flotation: The 4F GT literally “floats” over the terrain. With an operating weight of only 13.5 tons and 22.5-inch tires, it exerts minimal ground pressure, which is vital for protecting root systems during selective cutting and thinning. Its articulated chassis and contained dimensions allow it to navigate tight strip roads between trees where larger machines simply cannot fit.
Superior Engine Power: Don’t let its size fool you. Under the hood roars an AGCO Power 49 LFTN 4.9-liter engine (Stage V), delivering 190 hp (140 kW) and 800 Nm of torque. This power output is exceptional for a 10-ton forwarder, translating into climbing and hauling capabilities far superior to the competition. You will never lack strength, even with a full bunk on steep ground.
Load Area and Crane: The load bay features a length of 4.15 meters and a cross-sectional area of 3.85 m², optimized to maximize volume on every trip. For loading, it relies on the Mesera 83 F crane, with a lifting torque of 106 kNm and a reach of up to 10 meters, allowing for timber collection far from the track without moving the machine.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
1. Is the Logset 4F GT only for thinning or can it handle final felling? Its design is optimized for thinning due to its compact size. However, thanks to its powerful 190 hp engine and 106 kNm crane, it can handle extraction in final felling operations (regeneration harvesting) in smaller stands or difficult terrain without issues.
2. What is the fuel consumption of the 4-cylinder engine? The 4.9-liter AGCO engine is highly efficient. Since it has surplus power for its 10-ton load, the engine works relaxedly at low RPMs, significantly reducing diesel and AdBlue consumption.
3. How is the visibility from the cabin? Excellent. The cabin offers clear visibility towards the wheels and the load area. Additionally, it features the TOC 2 system which facilitates crane control settings, reducing operator fatigue.
4. What is the advantage of the hydrostatic-mechanical transmission? It offers the best of both worlds: the smoothness and precision of hydrostatic drive for slow maneuvering and loading, and mechanical efficiency for higher travel speeds or steep climbs, providing a tractive force of 135 kN.
5. Is it easy to transport between sites? Yes, with a weight starting at 13.5 tons and compact dimensions, it is much easier and cheaper to move on a lowbed trailer than large-class forwarders, making it ideal for contractors who change sites frequently.
