Experience Harvester Head - LOGSET TH55 in action. Performance, technology, and reliability in forestry work.
The perfect all-rounder: from thinning to medium felling
The Logset TH55 is the quintessential “all-rounder” harvesting head. Designed to bridge the gap between intensive thinning and light final felling, this model stands out for its lightweight and compact design. Weighing just 1000 kg with a processing capacity for trees up to 65 cm in diameter, it is the ideal tool for contractors needing a single solution to tackle a wide variety of forestry jobs without changing equipment.
Synchronized Three-Roller Feeding: Unlike its smaller sibling, the TH55 features a system of three synchronized feed rollers (two on the arms and one on the chassis), driven by four hydraulic motors. This ensures superior tractive force and a firm grip in any condition, allowing for the processing of heavy stems with the same ease as light ones.
Performance in Crooked Timber: Its short chassis design and long front knives with parallel linkage make it exceptionally effective in crooked wood. The tree slides through the head without jamming, while the large frame tilt angle facilitates felling and positioning in difficult terrain.
Precision Measurement: Accuracy is key to profitability. The TH55 measures diameter via two sensors on the front delimbing knives, ensuring reliable readings. Length is controlled by an adjustable hydraulic measuring wheel, which maintains perfect contact with the log even on irregular bark, ensuring millimeter-precise cuts on every log.
Fleet Compatibility
The most flexible head for mid-sized machines, ideal for maximizing machinery investment.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
1. What is the main difference between the TH55 and the TH45? The TH55 is larger and more powerful. It features 3 feed rollers (vs. 2 on the TH45) and 4 hydraulic motors, giving it significantly more feeding force. Additionally, it can fell trees up to 65 cm, whereas the TH45 tops out at 55 cm.
2. Is it suitable for Pine and Eucalyptus final felling? Yes, it is excellent for medium-diameter final felling (optimal processing diameter up to 40-45 cm). For continuously very large and heavy trees, it would be better to step up to the TH65, but the TH55 handles the majority of commercial logging operations in Spain perfectly.
3. How does the three-roller system work? The two side rollers embrace the tree while the bottom chassis roller supports the weight and aids traction. Being hydraulically synchronized, they ensure the tree advances smoothly without slipping, even if the bark is wet or loose.
4. What maintenance does the measuring system require? The system is very robust. The hydraulic measuring wheel adjusts automatically, but it is recommended to clean the diameter sensors and check the wheel pressure periodically to maintain the millimeter precision demanded by the industry.
5. Can it be installed on a 20-ton excavator? Yes, that is the ideal size. A 16-20 ton excavator provides the perfect hydraulic flow and stability to get maximum performance out of the TH55 without overloading the machine’s boom.
