Walking Excavator – KAISER S10

The “power package” for high-performance operations in extreme terrain.
The Kaiser S10 is widely known as the “power package” in the 10-ton class, setting new benchmarks in performance and efficiency for work in extreme terrains. With an operating weight starting at 12,800 kg and a power output of 147.5 hp, this spider excavator combines a breakout force of 111 kN with unmatched agility, allowing it to operate where conventional machines cannot reach. It is the ultimate solution for forestry, river management, and critical high-mountain infrastructure projects.

Large description

Engineering and Design: The Global Benchmark for Extreme Terrains.
The Kaiser S10 represents the evolution of the technological leader in mobile walking excavators. Its design is armored to withstand the harshest conditions, incorporating a FOPS-certified cabin that ensures operator safety against impacts and rollovers. A key advancement in this generation is the maximum mobility of its wheeled legs, allowing a wading depth of up to 2.45 meters—ideal for riverbed works and marshy areas. Its professional build is characterized by high-strength structural components designed for high-stress mountain environments.

Power and Performance:
Intelligent Hydraulic Management.
Equipped with a Perkins 1204J-E44TA diesel engine delivering 110 kW (147.5 hp) and compliant with Tier V / Stage V emission standards, the S10 offers ample power reserves with optimized fuel consumption. Its LS/LUDV three-circuit hydraulic system allows for independent flow management, maximizing performance when used as a multifunctional carrier. The fuel tank capacity has been increased to 390 liters (including reserve), significantly extending work shifts in remote areas without the need for frequent refueling.

Quality and Control:
Precision in Every Movement.
The S10 provides a superior control experience via ergonomic joysticks located on the KAB seat armrests, allowing for millimeter-precise maneuvers on steep slopes. To maximize productivity with forestry or hydraulic attachments, it features an adjustable Circuit I (0–150 l/min) and a Circuit II (up to 40 l/min), both operating between 120 and 320 bar. Safety is reinforced by a high-intensity LED lighting system and a rear camera providing total visibility of the working environment.

Fleet Compatibility:
The Kaiser S10 is designed to act as a multifunctional carrier compatible with:

  • High-flow attachments: Forestry mulchers, wood grapples, and processor heads.
  • Hydraulic equipment: Hammers, standard grapples, and winches (40 l/min hydraulic preparation).
  • Working flow: Main pump with a maximum flow of up to 350 l/min.

Frequented Asked Questions

1. What is the wading capacity of the Kaiser S10 in rivers? Thanks to the maximum mobility of its hydraulic legs, it can operate in depths of up to 2.45 meters, making it the leader for riverbed and aquatic maintenance tasks.

2. How does it manage power when using heavy attachments?
It utilizes an optimized three-circuit hydraulic system with Bosch Rexroth LUDV technology, which distributes flow independently of the load, ensuring the attachment does not lose power during machine movements.

3. Is it suitable for work on extreme slopes?
Absolutely. Kaiser excavators are the global benchmark for stability in terrains where standard tracked or wheeled machines cannot operate safely.

4. What is included in the machine delivery?
Each unit is delivered with a CE certificate, user manual, full parts book, and a 1-to-2-day technical training session for the operator.

5. What is the engine’s maintenance interval?
The Perkins engine is designed for service intervals of 500 operating hours, significantly reducing downtime and operational costs.
