Harvester Head – LOGSET TH75

The heavyweight for final felling: uncompromising power
The Logset TH75 is the definitive answer when stem diameters increase. Specifically designed for high-production final felling and mature forests, this head combines a larger, reinforced frame with a cutting capacity of up to 800 mm. It is the ultimate tool for contractors who need to handle large, heavy trees with the same agility as small ones, guaranteeing fast cycles and superior profitability on every felled tree.

Large description

Reinforced Frame for Extreme Loads: The TH75 is not simply a scaled-up version; it is a completely more robust structure. Weighing 1500 kg, its high-strength steel chassis is engineered to withstand the extreme torsion and forces generated when handling trees weighing 3 to 4 tons. Despite its robustness, the intelligent design minimizes contact between the stem and the frame, reducing friction and, consequently, fuel consumption.

Large Caliber Feeding and Grip Moving large timber requires massive traction:
The TH75 features a roller opening of 740 mm and a feeding system powered by 4 hydraulic motors (high displacement options available for arms and chassis). This configuration ensures the tree advances at a speed of up to 5.6 m/s, even with thick branches or difficult bark, keeping the stem centered thanks to the geometric reaction bars.

Delimbing and Cutting Quality:
The geometry of its 4 movable and 2 static knives is optimized to embrace large-diameter trunks (optimum 15-50 cm, max 80 cm). The SuperCut 100S saw unit with a 900 mm bar allows for felling trees up to 80 cm in a single pass, which is essential for efficiency in mature Radiata pine or large-sized Eucalyptus harvesting.

Fleet Compatibility and Configuration

The perfect partner for heavy-tonnage harvesters and heavy forestry excavators.

  • Recommended Base Machines: Wheeled (Harvesters): 18 – 22 tons (Ideal for Logset 8H GTE Hybrid and 10H GT). Tracked (Excavators): 19 – 24 tons.
  • Application: Final felling (clear cut) and high-volume late thinning.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. When should I choose the TH75 over the TH65? Choose the TH75 if your primary work involves final felling of trees with diameters consistently exceeding 45-50 cm. The TH75 offers greater closing force, a wider opening (740 mm vs 630 mm), and a heavier structure to withstand the daily abuse of large timber.

2. What base machine power do I need?
You need a powerful machine. For wheeled units, we are talking about the 20-ton class harvesters (like the Logset 8H or 12H). For tracked units, a 20 to 24-ton excavator is ideal to maintain stability with a 1500 kg head at the end of the boom.

3. Is it too slow for small trees?
Although optimized for large wood, its feeding speed of 5.6 m/s remains very competitive. However, if you are performing many thinnings in the 20 cm range, the TH65 would be more agile. The TH75 shines when there is volume.

4. What is the saw cutting capacity?
The SuperCut 100S unit mounts a 90 cm guide bar, allowing it to cut logs up to 800 mm in diameter. This covers practically any commercial tree in plantations on the peninsula.

5. How is the maintenance on such a large head?
Logset designs its heads to last for “generations.” The use of wear-resistant steels on the knives and protection for hydraulic components reduces downtime. Additionally, it features accessible grease points and an automatic chain tensioner to simplify daily routines.
