Harvester – NEUSON FOREST 264 HVT

The ultimate harvester for extreme slope forestry operations
The Neuson Forest 264HVT is the definitive harvester for logging on extreme slopes. Equipped with a cabin and crane leveling system (up to 25°) and a 303 hp engine, this machine offers maximum stability and hydraulic power to feed high-performance heads on the most challenging terrain.

Large description

Top-Tier Engineering: The 264HVT sits at the pinnacle of the Neuson range. Its standout feature is the proven slope compensation system (Tilt), which levels the cabin and crane 25° forward and +/- 15° laterally. This, combined with the auto-leveling option, allows for total stability on impassable terrain. Despite its power, it maintains a “Short Tail” design (minimal tail swing radius), facilitating maneuvering in confined spaces without damaging residual timber.

Raw Power and Hydraulic Performance:
The heart of this beast is a 9.0-liter John Deere 6090 C1550 Turbo-Diesel engine, generating 226 kW (303 hp). This powerplant drives a high-performance Axko pump with an impressive flow of 530 l/min at 320 bar. This ensures that the largest harvesting heads (such as the AFM 65 or Logmax 7000) operate at maximum feed speed simultaneously with crane movements.

Traction and Extreme Reach:
With a tractive force of 263 kN, the 264HVT climbs 60% (30°) slopes with authority. To minimize machine movement and protect the soil, it offers exceptional crane options, including the FarReach (P145) version providing a record 14.5-meter reach, allowing for the processing of distant timber without relocating.

Head Compatibility
Thanks to its high flow (530 l/min) and power, it is compatible with the widest range of heads on the market, from thinning models to final felling units:

  • Logmax: 5000V, 6000V, 7000C, 7000XT.
  • AFM Forest: AFM 55, AFM 65.
  • Waratah: H219, HTH618C III, H425, H425HD, H425X, H480C.
  • Ponsse: H6, H7, H8, H9.
  • SP Maskiner: 661 LF, 761 LF.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What distinguishes the 264HVT from the 243HVT? The main difference lies in the engine and hydraulic capacity. The 264HVT mounts a 9.0-liter, 303 hp engine (compared to the 6.8L, 250 hp of the 243HVT) and offers a flow of 530 l/min. It is the machine of choice when extra power is needed to move very large heads or work in extreme final felling conditions.

2. What advantage does the 14.5-meter crane offer?
The P145 (FarReach) crane option allows reaching trees 14.5 meters away with a gross lifting torque of 300 kNm. This drastically reduces the need to move the machine, saving fuel and protecting the forest floor by reducing track passes.

3. How is the maintenance access?
Neuson prioritizes serviceability. Both the cabin and the service platform tilt hydraulically, providing wide and ergonomic access to all engine and pump components, allowing checks to be performed while standing safely.

4. Is it compatible with intelligent control systems?
Yes, it can be equipped with the Smart Tip Handling (STH) system and Technion xCrane control. This allows the operator to control the crane tip directly with mini-joysticks, making operation more intuitive and less fatiguing.

5. What is the transport width?
Despite being a top-class 26-tonne machine, it maintains a transport width of 2.95 meters and a minimum height of 3.40 meters (depending on configuration), which facilitates its movement on standard low loaders.
