Felling Head – Quadco 20SC

High accumulation capacity with “Four Arms Up” design
The Quadco 20SC is a felling head designed to handle a wide variety of timber, distinguished by its high accumulation capacity. Its exclusive “Four Arms Up” design and extended tower offer superior leverage for handling tall stems. With a 508 mm (20″) cutting capacity, it is the ideal tool to maximize efficiency in medium-sized timber harvesting.

Large description

Engineering & Design:
“Four Arms Up” The Quadco SC series introduces a major innovation: the “Four Arms Up” design, engineered for efficient and stable accumulation. The structure features an extended tower that significantly improves leverage when handling tall wood, ensuring the base machine maintains control even with long trees. Additionally, it integrates a heavy-duty timing bar to guarantee the durability of the arm mechanism.

Feeding & Performance:
Cycle Speed Accumulation speed is a priority on the 20SC. The system uses one cylinder per arm set, facilitating faster and synchronized opening and closing. The head is powered by a reliable Rexroth motor, reaching a rated saw speed of 1,250 rpm, ensuring a fast and clean cut in every cycle.

Accumulation Capacity
This model excels in volume felling. With a 0.40 m² accumulation area on the disc and a maximum throat opening of 940 mm, it allows for bunching multiple stems before dumping. It is particularly effective for high-density, medium-sized logs (typical “eastern logs”), optimizing the feller buncher’s cycle times.

Fleet Compatibility
The Quadco 20SC offers an excellent balance between weight and capacity, adapting to a wide range of base machines.

  • Base Machines: Tracked Feller Bunchers and medium-heavy forestry excavators (Suggested 20-25 ton class).
  • Rotation: Available with 360° rotation (Medium Torque), ideal for complex thinning maneuvers.
  • Hydraulics: Requires configuration for Rexroth saw motor and individual cylinders on the arms.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) – Quadco 20SC

1. What is the advantage of the “Four Arms Up” design? This design positions four arms at the top to better secure stems during accumulation, offering better vertical stability and greater efficiency when bunching multiple trees.

2. What type of wood is the 20SC recommended for? Although designed to be versatile, its high accumulation capacity makes it perfect for medium-diameter trunks (up to 50 cm), typical of dense plantations.

3. What rotation system does it use?
The standard 20SC model is configured with 360-degree Medium Torque rotation, allowing for great maneuverability in the forest.

4. Is the cutting system fast?
Yes, the 18-tooth disc operates at a rated speed of 1,250 rpm, powered by a Rexroth motor, guaranteeing fast cuts to maintain production rhythm.

5. Can the disc teeth be changed?
Yes, the system is compatible with replaceable holders and teeth, and accepts both one-piece or segmented disc styles.
