Tracked Harvester – Neuson Forest 154 HVT

High efficiency re-defined for the 15-tonne class
The Neuson Forest 154HVT redefines efficiency in the 15-tonne class. With an operating weight of just 15.8 tonnes yet powered by a 175 hp engine and a dual-pump hydraulic system, this harvester offers the agility needed for dense thinning and the raw power for final felling on slopes up to 60%.

Large description

Compact Engineering with a Giant Heart: The 154HVT is designed for contractors who refuse to compromise between agility and power. Its compact chassis, featuring a transport width of just 2.50 meters, allows it to navigate narrow tracks and thinning lanes with ease. However, don’t be deceived by its size: it incorporates Neuson’s robust leveling system (Tilt), capable of compensating 25° forward and +/- 15° laterally, guaranteeing a stable and safe working platform on the most demanding slopes.

Unprecedented Hydraulic Power:
What truly sets the 154HVT apart is its hydraulic configuration, unusual for its class. It is equipped with a 4-cylinder, 175 hp (129 kW) John Deere engine powering an ultra-high-performance pump system: a 358 l/min LS main pump and a 297 l/min pump dedicated to the head. This translates into explosive feeding and delimbing capacity, allowing it to manage large timber with the speed of a much larger machine.

Traction and Slope Performance:
With a tractive force of 155 kN and a climbing capacity of 60% (30°), the 154HVT climbs with authority. Its power-to-weight ratio is among the best on the market, which, combined with a ground clearance of 570 mm, allows it to traverse stumps and rocks without losing production rhythm.

Head Compatibility

Thanks to its extraordinary hydraulic flow and stability, the 154HVT supports high-performance heads for both heavy thinning and light-to-medium final felling:

  • AFM Forest: AFM 45 (Pure speed).
  • Logmax: 4000T, 5000V (Power and precision).
  • Waratah: H423.
  • Ponsse: H5.
  • Kesla: 21RH-III, 24RH-III.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. Why choose the 154HVT over the 204HVT?
The 154HVT is ideal if your priority is transportability and working in tighter spaces. At 2.50 m wide and 15.8 tonnes, it is easier to move between small plots than the 204HVT (20t), but thanks to its 175 hp, it does not sacrifice processing speed in medium timber.

2. Is it really effective on slopes given its size?
Absolutely. Its leveling system features identical angles (25°/15°) to the larger machines. With a low center of gravity and contained weight, it grips the terrain exceptionally well, proving very agile on slopes where heavier machines might struggle with sliding.

3. What does having 358 l/min and 297 l/min pumps mean?
It means you will never run out of oil flow. Unlike other 15t machines that share flow, the 154HVT has ample capacity to move the crane quickly while the head is feeding at full speed. It delivers hydraulic performance typical of a superior class.

4. Which crane does it use?
It comes standard with the 1395H parallel crane with a 10-meter reach, but can be configured with the 13105H version (11 meters) for those prioritizing reach in thinning to minimize chassis movement.

5. Is it suitable for Eucalyptus?
It is a perfect candidate. Its size allows it to enter dense plantations or those with old planting grids, and its hydraulic power allows it to delimb medium-sized Eucalyptus without the head stalling, offering very high profitability due to low fuel consumption and high speed.
